Adam Salzer Biography

Adam Salzer is one of the “Top 20 Australians in Asia”.* His unlimited energy and focus is the driving force behind Salzer Consulting’s success.

Photograph of Adam Salzer Salzer Consulting’s Executive Chairman Adam Salzer has extensive practical business experience throughout Asia, and was responsible for establishing the first joint venture between a Western search group and the PRC government.

Over the last ten years he has channeled his considerable skills and experience throughout his company Salzer Consulting, focusing on human capital consulting covering a wide range of very complex HR projects, high level executive search and corporate advisory services.

He is in demand on the international conference circuit, delivering papers on human capital issues including process re-engineering, managing cross-cultural joint ventures, mergers and due diligence, retention, localisation policy and internal communications. He has been described as “unique” in his approach to doing business in Asia.

Born in Kenya and migrating to Australia in 1968, Adam Salzer is an economist by education and practise. For many years, prior to setting up Salzer Consulting, he ran his own management consultancy specialising in mergers, acquisitions, start-ups and turn-arounds in key industries such as telecommunications, IT, investment banking and media to name but a few.

As well as his business involvement, Adam Salzer has also given back to the community by co-founding the Australian Caption Centre - a not for profit organisation that provides closed captions for deaf and hearing impaired Australians on broadcast and pay television. In addition he founded the NSW Theatre of the Deaf as well as chairing the Board of the Deaf Society of NSW. For this involvement he was awarded membership of the Order of Australia in 1988.

He also has had a long association with the arts and was founding Chairman of the Bell Shakespeare Company as well as being responsible for forming and running ABSA - Australian Business Support for the Arts.
