Pre-Acquisition Due Diligence for Global Food Group A global food group was planning a series of acquisitions and needed to assess the capabilities, skills and attitudes of the target companies. This was complicated by the target companies being wary of any information being shared. Process It was important to enter these groups “under the radar” as there was resistance and protectiveness that was preventing the acquisition team from forming a realistic picture of the situation within each of the acquisition target companies. The Salzer Consulting team found ways of entering these facilities in order to gain a complete picture of what the actual situation within the companies were. Much of this new information was unexpected and highly relevant to the final costing of the project. It was essential to conduct simultaneous interviews in several countries and draw together a balanced team in terms of skills and cultural fit.
